How much does a divorce by mutual consent cost at the Registry Office?

The total cost of a divorce process varies depending on whether it is a divorce by mutual consent – which can be decreed at the Civil Registry Office – or a divorce without the consent of one of the spouses, which will proceed through the courts.

For mutual consent to occur, the spouses must agree on several issues:

– The decision to divorce;

– The exercise of parental responsibilities regarding minor children;

– The allocation of the family home;

– The determination of alimony for the spouse in need;

– The fate of any pets.

If an agreement is reached, the process can take place at any Civil Registry Office, with the total fee payable to the Registry Office being €280.00.

The ex-couple may also decide to carry out the division of assets simultaneously with the divorce. In that case, the total fee is €625.00.
